Job title: Java Application Architect
Location: Overland Park, KS
Duration: 3 months (could go longer)

Scope of Work:
Architect II performs architecture planning in support of key IT initiatives. The candidate focuses on requirements and design phases, supports development, testing, and issue escalation. The candidate manages and promotes use of IT standards, serves as subject matter expert to Nextel projects and provides support for project team members. The candidate is required to lead a large team of developers, performs architecture designs and solves complex module and system level application issues. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field. Post graduate degree preferred. Professional certifications preferred.

Other Skills:
¿ Seasoned Java developer with 5+ years of experience in Websphere portal Development, EJB, Web services, Front End Web Development, XML, SOAP etc.
¿ Experience with Websphere Upgrade desired from 5.x to 6.x or from 6.x to 7.x.
¿ Background in PHP is highly desirable.
¿ Experience with open content management systems e.g. Drupal.
¿ DB2 experience is a plus.
¿ Strong communication and documentation skills.
The resource would be working on Community, Digital Lounge(7SP) and Customer Care application (OZS) projects.
